Dear reader,
I am writing this letter because I believe that when asking for trust, it is right to show one's face. What you are about to read is the story of Fenix.
Fenix was born from a specific moment in my life.
Two and a half years ago I was in Madrid, for my sister's graduation at IE University. After the ceremony we went to dinner with some of her friends. At one point, during a simple and informal conversation, the topic fell on a seemingly banal subject: what our parents do.
One guy said his father spent his days playing golf. I asked him, almost amazed, if he was a professional golfer. He replied no: he was a financier who had earned so much that he could retire at forty. Since then he had been playing golf.
In that moment I immediately thought of my parents. My father is a surgeon. My mother is a lawyer who deals with minors in difficult situations. Two established professionals, who have worked all their lives, who get up early and come back late, who have dedicated their existence to helping others. People who earn more than well, but who are not even remotely close to the idea of being able to stop. And this, even over sixty.
The difference was not in the value of the work performed. It was not in the commitment. It was not even in the income.
The difference was only one: the language.
That guy's father spoke the language of finance. My parents did not.
At that moment, a profound injustice of the current system became evident to me: only a small minority, capable of independently managing their own resources and understanding a complex and often obscure language, truly manages to achieve a form of economic freedom.
I understood then that a huge part of the inequality we live in does not stem from the difference between those who work more and those who work less, but between those who understand the system and those who are excluded from it.
Fenix was born from this question.
It was born from the need to create something that people can understand. Not a system that promises, not a system that requires blindly trusting consultants or chasing constant fluctuations, but a system that makes sense for those who work, for those who sacrifice, for those who continue to do their part even when they are tired.
Fenix is designed for those who do not look for shortcuts. For those who do not have the time to study traditional finance, to follow its every variation or adapt to its constant changes. Fenix is the home of those who have always done their duty.
It is for those who keep going, even when no one applauds.
If you are reading this letter, you are probably one of these people. And so I want to tell you clearly.
We are the ones who, when you are tired, recognize you. When you are sacrificing, support you. When you continue even if no one is watching, applaud you.
We are the ones who tell you not to give up. To keep going, because we are here with you.
